Applications for Writing Circle accepted January 2-10, 2016


Are you an emerging writer? Apply to be a part of the 2016 Manitoba Writers’ Guild/Winnipeg Public Library Writing Circle! In collaboration with the MB Writers’ Guild, Winnipeg Public Library will be hosting a writing circle to offer emerging writers the opportunity to work with a mentor for a six month period. Applications will be accepted January 2-10, 2016.

The 2016 writing circle will be facilitated by Deborah Froese, who will will meet with participants to address their concerns, provide inspiration and advice, and offer ideas and suggestions. This year’s focus is on the power of story: how do stories impact us? Why are they important to share? What draws readers into a story and connects them? Explore basic story structure in both fiction and non-fiction and look at ways to build stories that connect with readers. Deborah Froese is passionate about stories and the power they have to shape us. She is an award-winning author and editorial director for Rebelight Publishing Inc. For two decades, Deborah has shared her enthusiasm for story building through workshops for writers of all ages.

Meetings will take place at Henderson Library on Mondays, 6:30-8:30 p.m.,
January 25, February 8, March 14, April 11, May 9, and June 6, 2016.
Interested writers are encouraged to download and submit the application form.
