TD Summer Reading Club / Club de lecture d’été TD

Summer has arrived! Bringing with it warm days, cool treats and the TD Summer Reading Club (TD SRC) at Winnipeg Public Library which will run until August 30. The TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, interests and abilities. The Club celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories, and inspires kids to explore the fun of reading their way.

Participating in TD SRC is a great way to keep kids motivated to read all summer long. Reading during the summer helps reduce summer learning loss, and encourages kids to become lifelong readers.

Free bilingual reading kits are available for children up to 12 years old. Children colour in each day they spend time reading or being read to and receive a ballot for every five days they colour in. Enter ballots at any branch for a chance to win great prizes, including books, swim passes, or tickets to a Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball game on July 21.

Pre-readers can also join the club and receive their free bilingual reading kit designed for caregivers to use with children up to 5 years old.

Teens in grades 7–12 can pick up a bilingual Teen Summer Challenge Card at any branch or find it on the website. For each challenge completed, they will get one ballot to enter a prize draw.

The TD SRC websites (English / Français) are packed with awesome activities. On the website kids can vote in book battles, find jokes written by other kids, answer trivia questions, read a webcomic, and more!

There is a huge variety of free programs on offer at all 20 libraries this summer for children up to 5 years old with a caregiver, school age children (6-12 years), families, and teens (grade 7-12). The club and summer programs run until August 30. Registration is open now for July programs, and registration for August programs begins July 8.
